Did you know that sometimes it’s not the one treatment that can help you reach the ideal look you are looking for; a combination of treatments can achieve fantastic results instead. The ageing face unfortunately does not stay to one area; it affects the whole surface in different ways.

By using a combination of treatments and having a holistic approach to the face, the practitioner can address all of these areas which together will give a fantastic youthful effect.

For example, “I look too old”. Botox injections can relax the muscles on the forehead to help to avoid any unwanted wrinkles, but if we were also to include dermal filler injections on the lower part of the face, around the mouth and/or jaw and cheek we will be lifting the face up resulting in a youthful glow.

In medical terms, beauty is described by a triangle. An upside down triangle represents the perfect proportions that we have when we are younger, as we grow older the triangle then flips.  Volume loss and Muscular Hyperactivity are two major components of the ageing process that together contribute to the formation of wrinkles.

By just adding Botox injections to the upper face we will not be focusing on the face as whole, which will not provide the maximum results achievable.

Rederm: Combating Menopausal Skin Changes!

Menopausal? Peri Menopausal? Over 40?

October 18th is World Menopause Day created by the International Menopause Society (IMS), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), focusing on all areas of menopause, from hot flashes to heart health. The IMS is the first menopause society in the world, founded in 1978 with the mission of addressing gender-based and menopause-based issues, which, as it states on their website, “until then had not been regarded as important.”

If you are of a certain age you may have already noticed age related hormonal changes in your body. From a change in your periods to your intimate health, your moods, your body temperature, odour and your general well-being all affected.

The drop in our oestrogen levels are the major cause of our symptoms and most of these we deal with in private however one of the major effects is written all over our face and that is the changes in our skin condition.

Treatments to help

Dry Skin, oily skin, adult acne, sagging, wrinkles, dehydrated skin, uneven skin tone and texture, loss of elasticity and degradation of collagen are the changes we will start to notice as we progress through life. Most of these changes are permanent and irreversible however they can be improved with aesthetic intervention.

Xela Rederm addresses many of the issues that appear due to the drop in our oestrogen levels.  It is injectable skin care of the highest quality. It hydrates, brightens and stimulates the production of collagen so you get glowing, bouncier skin. It speeds up the metabolism of the skin and prevents the build-up of free radicals that can lead to a further destruction of our collagen and elastin. All in all it is a game changer for skin that is changing due to our hormones.

You need a course of three treatments 2 weeks apart for the full effect then you can have your skin care injected as and when you feel the need for a boost.
