VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Advanced Skin Needling

The Level 4 Skin Needling curriculum provides students with comprehensive training aligned with national standards, providing the required skills and knowledge required as certified skin needling therapists. The course imparts a profound grasp of safety protocols essential to administering skin needling procedures. As part of the qualification, participants will revisit their understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to Level 4 aesthetic treatments.

As with our full range of Level 4 courses, delegates will cover in depth health and safety protocols. The client consultation procedures are emphasised, encompassing treatment clarification, contraindications, potential reactions, patch testing, and anticipated side effects. After treatment care is covered, including putting together a tailored follow-up plan and the significance of post-treatment sun protection. The qualification will cover customer service, refining client communication and enhancing students’ prospects within their own clinics or with prospective employers.

In the practical module, students will undertake case study treatments on live models, covering a variety of treatment areas. Learners will also cover the importance of the treatment environment’s readiness and equipment sterility. Apt selection of personal protective equipment (PPE) for aesthetic technicians and an in-depth comprehension of the skin needling process are central to the practical learning. Under the supervision of one our expert trainers, learners will master the art of selecting the appropriate needle dimensions, ascertaining optimal treatment duration and intensity in accordance with each client’s unique needs, all while diligently monitoring their response.
