Dr Oksana Coates graduated from Smolensk Medical University, Russia, in 1993. From 1993 to 1995, Oksana completed her surgical core training at a busy hospital in Russia.  After emigrating to the UK, Oksana passed the PLAB exams and began her training in Anaesthetics in Wales.  In 2007, she secured a training post at Borders General Hospital in Scotland. She spent a year undergoing further training in the Anaesthetics Department in Inverness. Following that, Oksana was offered a permanent position as a Speciality Doctor in Anaesthesia at Borders General Hospital, where she currently works full-time as an Anaesthetist.

Oksana has always had a strong passion for Aesthetic Medicine, and began her journey in this field in 2014. Since then, she has completed multiple training courses through Cosmetic Courses.  Oksana is a member of the JCCP and successfully completed her Level 7 qualification in Aesthetic Medicine in 2024.

In 2025, Oksana was honoured to receive the Scottish Beauty Industry Award.

Aesthetic Medicine is Oksana’s true passion, and she always strives to achieve natural-looking results. Oksana continues to be inspired by the positive impact this field can have on people’s self-esteem and confidence.
